Vitrifier reference

Supported 3D model file formats

Vitrifier accepts the most common mesh formats used by scanners, modeling tools, and downloadable 3D assets.

STL

Binary and ASCII STL files carry triangle geometry without material names, scene hierarchy, or reliable real-world units. Confirm finished height during import.

OBJ

OBJ files carry indexed polygon geometry and may include multiple named objects. Vitrifier uses the mesh surface for panel planning rather than relying on external material files.

GLB and GLTF

GLB and GLTF can carry scene transforms and multiple mesh objects. Inspect the combined result carefully and remove unrelated scene geometry before panelization when necessary.

What makes a suitable source

Regardless of file type, use a model with a deliberate surface, sensible scale, and enough geometric continuity to represent the intended glass form. Extremely dense scans, internal shells, and disconnected fragments may require cleanup.
